Reaction to Fisher

I can enjoy reading "Perception Of Self", but I have a little unnatural things after reading it.

I think human beings' perception or sensation are very amazing because we can live well by using effectively. However, Fisher says that our perception is not perfect and it is affected by our own experiencdes, values, tastes and so on. It is very interesting for me. In addition, which is important, figure, and which is not so important, ground, depend on our own thinking. This idea is new for me. I thought important thing is important for everyone.

Actually, when we saw the video of white people and gorilla in the ARW class on Monday, I coudn't see the gorilla. So I felt the something like a flaw in my perfection. Thinking about it after reading the text, I want to know about it more. I'll search the illustrations with some tricks related to perceptions.

Reaction to "Barna"

I read "Barna" text and I mostly agree with this text.

People in the world are sometime worried about communication with other people who have different cultures. I also had difficulty when I went to America for school trip. Amrican's way of communication is different from what I expected. For example,

Barna says, it is important to understand other cultures and accept that there are some differences between our own cultures and other cultures. I think it is also important to experience other cultures by visiting the country. It is the easiest way to know other countries.

We can enjoy learning other cultures, so we should have interesting in them more.

Summer reading reaction

 I chose " The catcher in the rye" for my summer reading. You know, this story is very famous and translated into Japanese, too. I think everyone has heard this title at least once before.

 The reason I chose this is that I have never read this famous story before and in this opportunity I want to read literature work like the story.

 This story is mainly about the boy, whose name is Holden and who is about 16 years old. He has mane complains about school or family, so he is disobedient against evrything. This story starts at the scene that Holden leaves his school. After that, he experiences many things thorough the days in New York by himself and grows up.

 While I read this book, I have some agreements with him because I myself have some complex about my family and sometime complainments like him.  Totally, Holeden's characteristics reflects on the situation of current young people, so this book is maybe suitable for young people reading.

It is hard to summarize this story because this is composed by Holden's life. However, we can see young people's feeling, so I want more and more students to read this book.

How was my summer? What do I want to learn from ARW Autumn?

My summer vacation was very hard.

I am working at a preparatory school for university entrance examinations as a tutor.
The summer vacation is so important for students preparing for an examination, so they are studying everyday there.
Because we had to support them, we also have to work almost everyday.
It was hard working, but students thanked us, so I feel something like achievement.

I must have done my homework, too.
My summer was very, very busy.


By the way, what I want to learn from ARW in this term is "writing in English better" skill.
This is main point of ARW classes, but I think spring term was not enough.

I haven't studied abroad and taken writing classes in my high school, so my writing skill is very poor.
In spring term, I learned the bases of writing essays.
In autumn term, I want to make my writing skill better.

I have un easiness feeling about my English skill, but I'm looking forward to taking this class.
